Usually, yes — and it's rarely the grooming itself they hate. It's the crate, the noise, and the hours of waiting in a room full of unfamiliar animals.

Here, your pet is the only one in the room. They're groomed on arrival and go home as soon as they're finished. Tell us about past bad experiences when you book and we'll go slower, break the session up, and prioritise your pet being comfortable over a flawless finish.

Because a 3 kg Maltese and a 30 kg Golden Retriever are not the same job. Final price depends on three things: your pet's size, coat length and coat condition. A badly matted coat can take twice as long as a well-maintained one.

Send us the breed, rough weight and a recent photo, and you'll get an exact price in writing before you book — not a surprise at collection.

"Home-based" describes the setting, not the standard. The den is a dedicated grooming room with a professional table, force dryer and the same tools a salon uses. What it doesn't have is a row of holding cages and a queue of other animals.

A basic groom takes around 2 hours; a full groom with a haircut takes around 3. That's true for both dogs and cats.

Crucially, that's the whole visit — not a 3-hour groom bolted onto three hours of waiting. One pet at a time means your pet is worked on from the moment they arrive.

Yes, and they're standard rather than an extra. You'll get photos and videos during the session. It's the single thing clients mention most often in reviews — because the hardest part of dropping your pet off is not knowing how it's going.

We stop. If your pet has genuinely had enough, we'll do what we safely can, tell you honestly what was and wasn't finished, and arrange to complete the rest another day rather than forcing it through.

For very anxious pets, splitting a full groom across two shorter visits often works far better than one long one. Ask us about it.

We'll tell you honestly what's possible. Light matting can usually be brushed out — de-matting starts at S$20 and is priced on size and severity.

Severe matting is different. Mats pull constantly on the skin, trap moisture and can hide sores underneath, so clipping the coat short is very often the kinder choice even though it isn't the answer owners want. Either way, you'll get a message with the options and the cost before we carry on.

Properly, yes. Cats have their own service list and their own pricing because they need a completely different approach — low restraint, shorter working periods, and breaks whenever they need them. Cat full grooming starts at S$100, basic grooming at S$60.

Several of our five-star reviews are from owners whose cats had never been groomed before. One review specifically notes the kitten showed no traumatised behaviour afterwards — which is exactly the bar we aim for.

Yes — everything from toy breeds up to large double-coated dogs like huskies and malamutes. For those breeds, regular de-shedding (from S$20) usually does far more good than a haircut. Pricing scales with size and coat, so message us for an exact quote.

Yes, and first grooms are something we take particular care over — a bad first experience can put an animal off for years.

For puppies and kittens we often suggest starting with a basic groom rather than a full one: it's shorter, gentler, and teaches them the routine isn't frightening. For senior pets, tell us about any mobility or health issues when you book so we can adapt — sometimes that means doing less, in stages.

As a rough guide, most coated breeds do well with a full groom every 6–8 weeks, with a basic groom or shower in between. Double-coated breeds generally want regular de-shedding rather than haircuts.

We'll suggest a realistic schedule for your pet's coat after the first session — and if you groom regularly, ask about our credit packages, which start at S$150.

We're a home studio off Sembawang Road, in the north of Singapore — convenient for Sembawang, Canberra, Yishun, Admiralty, Woodlands and Khatib.

Because it's a private home, the full address is sent to you once your booking is confirmed. One review notes the location was "easy to find" — you won't be hunting for it.

Yes. Add transport to your booking: S$15 within Sembawang or S$25 for other areas. It's a good option if you don't drive, or if the car journey stresses your pet more than the groom does.

We do. Daycare runs 10am–6pm from S$35, and overnight boarding starts at S$60. Both are home-based and cage-free, with an air-conditioned room at night and deliberately limited slots so nobody is left to entertain themselves.

Everything that might matter. Most usefully:

• Past bad grooming experiences, or anything that frightens them
• Skin conditions, allergies, lumps, or recent surgery
• Mobility problems, especially in older pets
• Any history of biting or defensiveness when handled
• Your pet's vaccination status
• The cut you're after — a reference photo is ideal

None of this puts us off. It just lets us plan the session properly instead of discovering it halfway through.
